Taylor - It's almost October!

Long time no see! Austin and I are finally getting into more of a routine. His class work load is so much easier since switching majors from Mechanical Engineering to Manufacturing Engineering Technology. He's hoping that he might be able to squeeze in a weekend to go hunting this fall, he still needs to call Cameron and talk about it though.  We will be 28 weeks tomorrow, and I am so excited! The weather is starting to cool off, I've got most of our baby stuff washed, organized, and ready to go, and the fall colors are starting to show in the trees! Tonight is our 4/5 hypnobirthing class, and we will be spending the majority learning how to use counterpressure techniques and stuff to help during labor, which I'm pretty pumped about. ALSO, Austin and I both have job interviews on Friday! It's for seasonal positions at Artco (The Occassions Group) making greeting cards for the holidays. They are incredibly flexible with schedules (literally work whenever you want, as th...

Amber - slight change with extra motivation

So I didn't post last week.  I will confess that no one has been here and I was feeling like what is the point.  Actually the bigger issue was that I didn't want to report another week of failure, which is what it was, as far as measurable goal progress was concerned.  However I had some good scripture study, mostly of the chastening kind where I realized I'm slacking in some areas and exhibiting some lazy and self centered behaviors.  Basically I've had a rough few weeks and I think it is time to put my foot down.  Thus I'm creating a mandatory schedule and I have some fuel/motivation from last weeks scripture study to back it up with.  (Sorry for those who like to read my scripture study I can't remember all of them.  I did come follow me, the last two conference talks, and a study on the covenants made in the temple).  Anyways the schedule is split into three sections and consists of the stuff I've been trying to do for the last few month...

Good day to someone.  I'm not finding much enthusiasm for this blog anymore so I skipped another week.  I did a little better on scripture study than the last time it happened but still not near as good as when I share.  In other words not an acceptable state of scripture study.  My goals are again much the same as last week just because I did make some progress and I haven't yet really pinned down the tweaks I want to make to the changes I made last time.  Last week was mostly vacation or preparing for vacation.   The three main goals are 1. Prayers 2. Exercise 3. Go to Bed If you want more details see last post. Monday: * Elder Dyches of the 70 gave an amazing talk about "Light Cleaveth Unto Light".  It has actually been a sort of theme in my scripture study so I really liked it.  Light always beats the darkness, any amount of light and the darkness must give way for the light.  This is so with truth, it is like a light to our mi...

So I skipped last week.  I was depressed last week and I have to say that not having to put my spiritual thought down did affect the quality of my scripture study, though I not as much as it used to.  I still tried to find something but since I wasn't actually writing it down it wasn't as important to find something.  I am feeling better this week and I have decided to add a little bit to the goals this week.  I need to do a few things to improve my days, I need better prayers, I need to get some sort of exercise, and of course to go to sleep on time.  I was getting tired of using the chart, partly because the post won't stay in "compose view" and I had to switch it back every time I updated.  Maybe I'll add one at the end of the week because I am fond of seeing the trend of the week.  So new goals below. Goals: 1. Prayers Have a nice morning meeting about the day (after I am actually awake and dressed). Say one before scripture study. End the da...
