Aimee- Starting Insanity

So, just as the title says, I'm starting Insanity again this week. Insanity is a 60 day workout program from Beachbody with a little meal guide. I did it once in the past. I have been searching for something that will work for me. I've been praying and trying different things. I was at work, when Insanity popped into my head. I wouldn't have picked it for myself right now, but I felt inspired to do it again. I'm nervous because all of the workouts are cardio based and I know that I'm going to be exhausted. Last time, I made it a little over half way through the program and then physically couldn't keep going because I wasn't eating enough. I'm going to follow the meal plan and add some more calories in the second half and see if I can make it through this time. I'm excited and nervous. I stared with their fit test today to track progress and took measurements and pictures. I'll keep you all informed!

Amber - My name is right here

The title is me trying to type while Grandma stands over complaining about the ice cream spots on her shirt.  I am looking forward to the progress of this week.  I'm also super excited for general conference!  Also it is Easter which is fun.  I think I will dye some eggs with Grandma, we'll see how she does.  I might have to have her wear her painting clothes.  This weeks goals are pretty much the same.  Though to be honest I'm ignoring the last two one time things until I can get my sleep schedule to switch. One time things Make a plan of what extra things I'm going to study Make a plan of how I want to practice doing my daily goals Daily goals Get up 6-7.  I prefer 6 but having enough sleep is more important than more morning time. Keep my room electronic-free Do service when I'm lonely Memorize when I drift off into an imaginary world Call someone when I feel tempted Repent each night Go to bed 9-10.  I aim for 9 but not sure if I ca...

the last two weeks have been very emotionally draining, but im feeling much better now. my psychiatrist put me on new antidepressants which have been working great so far and diagnosed me with ADHD which I heavily suspected but im glad i know for sure now.

Taylor - So Close!

We move out two weeks from today! I feel so unprepared. There isn't actually a ton to do, but the thought of packing, finding a storage unit, renting a truck for moving our large items, working on final projects, and trying to meal plan the heck our of our remaining food supply is daunting. I'm feeling pretty lucky that I made some freezer meals a couple of months ago, because I've been able to plan those to feed us the last week before moving out. So all we have to do is thaw them (all soups), heat them up, and serve! I'm happy that it means I can pack our dishes and cooking supplies, and just use paper bowls and plastic spoons. I've already been able to meal plan most of this and next week's meals. Yay! This last week I didn't give my best effort. Frustration was my downfall - ants not going away, project aspects that team members don't do good work on ( so I will probably have to re-do their part), other projects not working out, not cleaning enough....

Aimee- Don't Get Discouraged

This week was really hard for me. Depression and anxiety hit hard and I just had to focus on getting to work. But I'm choosing not to get discouraged and just start again.  We went camping Saturday and came home Sunday. We went with our friends and their little boy Sam, and we brought Aspen. We went to Westmoreland State Park and looked for sharks teeth on fossil beach. Aspen had SO much fun digging in the sand. She even tried to run into the water after the driftwood. Sam loved Aspen and had a lot of fun running with her. She put her teeth up once at him because he wouldn't stop hugging her while she was sleeping haha. But she did really well with him and liked playing with him (maybe because he was always feeding her his snacks. She definitely ate a whole poptart). We got home Sunday afternoon and fell asleep. Now I'm trying to take the next two days to get things back together.

Amber - Doing it this week

I have been struggling to get anything more done all last week.  However, this week is going to be different.  I'm doing the stuff this week.  I'm putting down the same goals but I'm adding one or two things.  Part of my problem is staying up too late and this affects my whole day.  It's an ongoing issue for the last couple years but much worse now that I need to be up in order to get things done before I need to be helping Grandma.  As it is I spend the rest of the day trying to do both at the same time.  By evening I have a little bit of free time before my brain runs out of power and then I need some relaxing time.  Often there is a bit of depression involved and when that happens I'm not going to bed anytime soon.  It might help too if I have a rise time.  So here are the goals below. One time things. Put up all of my signs and affirmations (just have one to reprint and put up) Make a plan of what extra things I'm going to stud...

Addy - Weird Dreams

Spring is here! We've had some sunshine here in Walla Walla and I didn't realize how much I've missed it.  Spiritual - I've been working on making my prayers more meaningful this week and have found that whatever hard things I go through or goals I don't meet, I always end up feeling at peace with myself and somehow I have the energy to take the next step. I've been studying Enos, one of my favorite stories. In verse 2, Enos talks about the wrestle he had before God  before  he was forgiven. I was always a little confused as to what the word "wrestle" meant in a spiritual sense. And perhaps it can mean many things, but I read President Nelson's talk, "Let God Prevail" where he talks about deciding what is most important to us and wrestling with the natural man and ultimately letting God prevail in out lives. We have stop thinking we know better than God and be willing to let go of things we think we need for something better. Health - I...

Taylor - Pushing Through

I'm trying to start fresh this week. Last week I did maybe a single workout. It's getting warmer outside, so I think I might start trying to go on long walks. I'm learning that actual workouts don't super help baby pooch or diastasis, so I'm trying to stress less about actually working out and focus on getting small exercises in throughout the day.  I started my period two days early -- just great. BUT at least I didn't waste a pregnancy test! lol it's the little things. So now we are going on month 5. I'm trying to not memorize the dates of when I'm supposed to ovulate, or stress about trying in general, because stress about getting pregnant on top of stress about school is too much stress.  We are on week 11/13.5 for this semester, and both Austin and I are starting to feel the pressure. We haven't really procrastinated a lot, but at the same time, we still have large projects that need finishing soon that take a major toll on our grades. I...

Amber - Go Again

Last week was not too bad.  I also enjoyed seeing family and visiting with people.  I will say though that my stamina is not up to Ikea yet.  I was quite exhausted all that day and into the next day.  However I did get quite a few things I'd been trying to find without getting them shipped to me.  Now I am going to do more on my goals this week.  I've got the electronic-free room down pretty good right now and it feels amazing!  I need to do better with the memorizing and actually use my call list and service jar.  Here are the goals for now. One time things. Write up my call list Put up all of my signs and affirmations Make a plan of what extra things I'm going to study Make a plan of how I want to practice doing my daily goals Daily goals Keep my room electronic-free Do service when I'm lonely Memorize when I drift off into an imaginary world Call someone when I feel tempted Repent each night Monday: * I read about the armour of God in D...

Aimee- Starting To Feel Better

Hello! So this week has been decent, considering I was on my period and had an ovarian cyst rupture last month (periods after cyst ruptures are always painful for me). I didn't bother weighing myself because periods always make me bloat and feel huge haha. So just ignoring that for now.  Health- I did 3 workouts that I created myself and I really enjoyed it. I've been reading a book called Eat. Lift. Thrive by Sohee Lee, she's a personal trainer that I admire. She struggled with similar eating disorders and I'm learning a lot. I'm learning that I have to find something sustainable for myself and take small steps to succeed. My eating was pretty consistent the first part of the week, but suffered a lot in the second part. I'm putting more focus on that this week and will continue to make some of my own workouts for this week. I filled my kickboxing stand up with water so I could finally use it! It felt nice to get back into kickboxing techniques and get some ang...

I'm not really sure what to say. This week was pretty uneventful. I have been going to work and working on my goals and doing well for the most part.  A new recipe I tried this week that I really liked was, mushrooms and spinach sautéed with butter, garlic and red pepper flakes. Half way through cooking put swiss cheese on top, let it melt. Then put roast chicken/tofu with the spinach and mushrooms in a tortilla.  I am getting a little frustrated with therapy, I still really like her. But I always seem to already be doing what they tell me will help my issues. I've spent lots of time researching and listening to other peoples experience with mental health that I feel like I know what to do and how to do it. But it never helps all the way and I don't ever know what to do next and neither does anyone else I guess. Yes I've made a ton of progress over the last couple years with the tactics they teach in therapy, I just want a solution to help everything haha but I guess t...

Addy - First Post(finally)

March 13, 2021 I finally remembered make a post! And I want to make it a weekly thing. I've been reading all of your posts and I love hearing about your goals and what's going on in your lives! I've been in a little bit of a slump. Life can start to feel a little monotonous at times, but mine and Alyse's trip to Seattle helped and I'm ready to set some new goals! I just started listening to a book called "Atomic Habits" by James Clear. It's about how small 1% improvements to your habits bring massive results. I just started it but I am loving it so far. I've also just started working out again. I do a 30 min workout called Bodycombat. It teaches you how to punch and kick and turns it into a workout, it's the only workout I've ever actually enjoyed! I'm also working on decorating my room and I'm enjoying making it my own space. I haven't been back to school since 2019 and I miss learning so I'm going to pick something I...

Aimee- Slowly Making New Goals

I'm working on making some new goals for myself. I'm realizing that I need to enjoy everyday, no matter what's going on. Find the things that make me happy and thoroughly enjoy them. I think in order to do that, I need some order and consistency to my life. So, to start off, I need a morning and night routine that will fit my current schedule.  Morning Routine -Wake up 4:30am -Prayer and Scripture of the day -Shower, hair, and make up (toner) w/podcast -Pack up food -Walk Aspen -Leave for work at 5:40am The night routine is a tricky one for me, especially days that I work.  Night Routine -Walk Aspen -Meal Prep for next day -Get Aspen's bag ready/food -5 min stretch with 1 min plank -Face routine/shower -Teeth (me and Aspen)  -Family Prayer -Me time -In bed by 9:30 Yes, Aspen takes up a lot of my time and yes I shamelessly brush her teeth every night. She loves it haha. I'm going to try and stick with this and see how it goes. I'm usually in bed by 9:45, but wou...

Amber - Feeling Better

I have made it through my short sugar-less stint.  I was actually doing a toxin cleanse because I was feeling really unwell from all the sugar I was eating.  I am back to eating whatever I want but just less.  Maybe later I'll cut things out but I also have my other goals that are taking precedence.  I'm a one thing at a time person.  I do feel much better both from eating less sugar and also from eating some.  Last Sunday I was feeling really hungry and really sick of eating the stuff I could eat.  So on to this week.  Here are the goals again. One time things. Write up my call list Put up all of my signs and affirmations Make a plan of what extra things I'm going to study Make a plan of how I want to practice doing my daily goals Daily goals Keep my room electronic-free Do service when I'm lonely Memorize when I drift off into an imaginary world Call someone when I feel tempted Repent each night Monday: * I did read today but I also had re...

Taylor - Not Much, but Here it is

This week has been alright. I've been feeling a bit of a dip in my mood, and I'm wondering if it is because Ellie's 6 month mark is tomorrow (monday). I've definitely dropped the ball pretty much the whole week.  I felt (feel) conflicted about working out when trying - I know many experts say that it is just fine to keep working out while TTC, but I have also read and heard that while it is good to exercise, we should take it easier. My assigned workouts are all really hard as I'm nearing the end of my 8 week workout timeline, so I ended up not working out :/ I did a couple of stretches though. Along with not working out, I haven't eaten as healthy this week, entirely because I was trying to make foods that were soft enough for Austin to eat (ie. salads). So the progress that I had made is no longer - which is a MAJOR disappointment because it's the only progress I've made in months. What is also a disappointment (sorry if this is TMI for some of you) i...

Aimee- Second Week Of March

So this week I had some wins. I wore a little bit of makeup to work every day. I got a new creme eyeshadow that is really easy to put on and I just bring it with me to work (I have a hard time putting on make up in time to get to work at 6am). Aspen came to work with me 3/4 days this week, and she was such a good girl. I got 3 workouts in and 2 mile runs. I have been using FitOn app that Taylor suggested, and I have been enjoying it! Also *drumroll* I made it to my 185 goal this week! I got on the scale this morning and was super excited :). I meal prepped every day for work, too. So all good things!

Hi guys so this week was a really fun.  So first amber asked how I make my tofu; its really simple and not anything special. I cut the tofu into very thin rectangle shapes. I cover them in cornstarch and cook them in a pan with oil or butter until they are crispy. Then I get rice and teriyaki sauce and mix it together. I usually eat it with avocado and seaweed. Ok. Starting on monday, I had my first meeting with my therapist and it went great! I absolutely love her. We are meeting every monday now. We are trying to get me on meds, probably lithium as the last one I took did more harm than good, she said it was a newer less proven drug. But lithium has been used for a very long time and has a really good success rate so hopefully it works out. Tuesday addy came up and said that she wanted to go to seattle as soon as she could to get a break and since work had given most of the week off we decided to make a impromptu trip. We left wednesday after addy got off of work.  Our...

Amber - A new week

I love a new week, it is so exciting on Monday to start over and have a whole week to progress.  I have decided I need to do one of my one time things per day or at least work on one of them every day before I get to play.  I have been able to tick a few things off from my goals last week.  Here is the updated goal list below. One time things. Write up my call list Make a sign to put on my door for electronic-free space Make signs of my goals to put on my goal board Make signs of affirmations and put up Make a plan of what extra things I'm going to study Make a plan of how I want to practice doing my daily goals Daily goals Keep my room electronic-free Do service when I'm lonely Memorize when I drift off into an imaginary world Call someone when I feel tempted Repent each night Monday: * While reading the first of section 20 I noticed a lot of God being unchangeable an endless and his laws never changing.  I've always taken comfort in this knowing I can rely on...

Aubrey-I Deserve Care Too.

Okay, I have not been amazing on anything. I did no sugar for 4 days in a row, man were the first two days really bad, but I made it through. I was also pretty consistent with doing my hair, wearing contacts, and putting mascara on. I did finish the Excel template for my vehicles service records, though I am still editing it as I have been filling it out and playing around with it. I didn't make a chore chart, but I did manage to do most of what I want to call our weekend chores, even though it was done between 11pm and 2am. We did primary stuff with Aaron and did some scripture reading, but it is difficult to feel like we did Come Follow Me as Aaron has a small attention span, so we need to figure out a thing where we can do one just Zach and I as well as one as a family. We watched finding Nemo and had panda express as our date night(Aaron was our third wheel. lol). I pretty much failed with RYC last week, but mom and I picked it up again today, so we are set to continue strong. ...

New week

Image
Hi! So not really much to update on.  This week not much happened. They had me work a lot more than usual so I was pretty busy. I almost bought a cat and a snake as an impulse buy haha but I am glad I didn't. As far as my health journey: I found out the gym below us isn't accepting new members currently so I am just going to do my best at home. I finally found a way to cook tofu that I actually like! I am also working on perfecting a vegan meat substitute called seitan, its originally from china, its flour and water kneaded and then you rinse all the starch out so once it is cooked it has a meat like texture and all that's left from the rinse is gluten and proteins, so far I haven't been able to get the texture right though so I am still working on it. Taylor asked for some of my healthy food ideas so these are a few: I usually keep a frozen bag of fruit in the freezer for smoothies, snacks or dessert. My smoothies I usually put a frozen banana, fruit, yogurt or almond...
