Taylor - Finding a Rythm

This past week has been a little different from our usual. I wasn't feeling amazing, had an entire day where my stomach just HURT so I started off the week not exercising, which led to not having a desire to exercise at all. I did a few lighter workouts though, and felt pretty good while doing them and after. It can be hard to get into the mindset. Austin got his wisdom teeth out! The dentist said that he had a pretty bad infection in/around both of the teeth. He said as soon as he injected him with the numbing medication, they started oozing pus. GROSS. Now that there is nothing blocking and retaining the infection, I can only hope that it will drain and heal quickly, because BOY that infection mixed with the blood is a nasty smell. He is doing pretty well, just extremely tired of soft foods already. He wants chicken. haha. I offered to make him mashed potatoes, but he doesn't want any!! Ugh lol can't complain about how you get your carbs right now bud. There is one thing...

Aimee-Loving Your Body

As you know, I've been trying to lose weight this year (and last year and the year before) and it's not going very well. Of course, I've been thinking of why things aren't going to plan and where I'm going wrong. But in the meantime, there is a of self-loathing and comments in the mirror to myself. A lot of insecurity, no make up, and baggy clothes. I keep telling myself that I'll take better care of myself when I'm thin and then I'll be happy. But I don't think it works that way. I think we have to learn to love the body we are in and appreciate it for all the amazing things it can do. There's nothing wrong with having physical goals, but they can't define you or your happiness. I'm not going to magically confident and happy with myself if I just lose some weight. I'm going to work on loving my body and taking better care of myself right now.  That being said, I had a doctor's appointment for my annual physical and had my blood ...

Finding Myself.

It has been a super long time since I posted. Needless to say, things have been super crazy for us with the new baby, the move, and a new semester. I am getting more and more tired and I can't take much more of feeling like this. I have decided that part of my problem is that I leave no time for myself. I will concede that there may be more than just my lack of personal time like hormone and vitamin imbalances, allowing myself to stay up too late, and even expecting too much of myself inevitably getting burnt out.  I have decided against making a ridged structure, with kids it is nearly if not totally impossible to do one. Right now I am trying to have enough structure to not feel so stressed myself from the disorder but not so much that I drive Zach and the boys crazy. I am also trying to have some me time, whatever that means, and some time with Zach. So here are some goals that I am trying to do to help me have more balance in life: DAILY -Get up at the same time every mor...

Aimee- Fitness and nutrition

Today I started a more in-depth fitness journey. Something that I usually struggle with the most is food. I don't like to admit it, but I've developed some unhealthy eating disorders. So restrictive eating and goals that have to do with food can be triggering for those disorders. I have spent that last year studying on fat loss/healthy living through food. I've found a lot of things that work for me. I made our meal plan for the week and tried a new turkey chili tonight that was pretty good. I did 2 hours of grocery shopping and will finish the prep cooking tomorrow before I start my work week.  I bought a wall calendar where I can put my workouts for the week. I'm still working on that tonight, I'm struggling to find a balance. I tend to go hard and burn out too fast, pre workout and all.  I took before pictures this morning, did my measurements and my weigh in. I started at 190 and am at 186.6 today. Maybe next week I'll hit my 5lb goal and get to go shopping...

Amber - I'm getting excited again

The future is all mine!  Getting my things cleaned and making small progress on my goals is getting me excited.  I also got up a little earlier today so that is helping.  I want to do all the things!  I'm also feeling closer to reaching my current main goal.  So again here are the main goals I'm working on.   First the one time things. Make a service jar Write up my call list Make a sign to put on my door for electronic-free space Make signs of my goals to put on my goal board Make said goal board Make signs of affirmations and put up Make a plan of what extra things I'm going to study Make a plan of how I want to practice doing my daily goals Now my daily goals Keep my room electronic-free Do service when I'm lonely Memorize when I drift off into an imaginary world Call someone when I feel tempted Repent each night As a side note I'm also trying to stop eating sugar because it's seriously affecting my health and weight.  I've bought some fo...

Aimee- New Goals

Hello Everyone! I'm starting some new goals for this year. I have struggled a lot this year with my mental health, and I really want to be in a better place. I don't always know how to do that, but I am trying! Something I have been focusing on is losing weight and getting back into shape physically. My health has declined a lot as well as gaining a lot of weight since Steven and I got married. I have gained over 40 lbs in 2 1/2 years. I'd really like to see that go down. For every 5 lbs I lose, I am letting myself buy an article of clothing :) I don't fit in any clothes (I wear scrubs all day anyways) and I'd like to get some new stuff for summer/fall.  For my physical goals, I'm going to make my workout schedule from running and youtube videos from two girls I really like. I need to work on my flexibility and mobility. Everything hurts and once a get down on my knees at work, it takes a lot to get my knees working again. Which isn't great for restraining ...

alyse-updates

Hi! Its been a second so I guess Ill just do a quick update. I moved to Walla Walla for those that don't know and I am living in a loft apartment with addy and some friends from highschool. I really like the apartment, I have my own room for the first time, yay! I transferred to the ross here so I am working the same job, but I am looking for a different job, its taking a while because I am being picky. I am also looking into going back to the community college to finish my associates in business and then maybe going to wwu for psychology and maybe one day getting Phd. One of the things I would like to do is work with abused or disabled children or people with anti-social disorders. I am also looking into acting in the area and online agencies. Addy and I haven't been the best influence on each other cause we both like to watch netflix and order takeout alot, so I haven't been very productive. I mostly just work, art, sleep and repeat. However I have been meditating a lot m...

Taylor - I'm Back! Goals and Updates on Me

Alright! I'm actually kind of excited to try this again. We will see how long I last, haha. I want to try to make this a little like a journal for myself, but also keep it simple so you ladies aren't spending forever reading my posts :) This past week Austin and I went down to Houston for my brother's endowment! It was so great being able to take a break from life and go spend Valentines weekend with my family. They also recently adopted an adorable puppy. We believe he is Great Pyrenees and possibly Poodle, his name is Jax and he is the cutest fluffball. I was also able to see one of my best friends who just came home from her mission! We didn't get to hang out like I hoped, but it was good to see her.  After I write up this post, I am going to go put together one of my goals: a belated Valentines gift to Austin. I forgot to put it together in the hustle and bustle of cleaning, packing, and driving down to the airport. It's nothing classy or unique, but I'm go...

Amber - Getting back up

Ok I've asked a few people and they said they would help so I'm going at it again this week.  Same goals as before. First the one time things. Make a service jar Write up my call list Make a sign to put on my door for electronic-free space Make signs of my goals to put on my goal board Make said goal board Make signs of affirmations and put up Make a plan of what extra things I'm going to study Make a plan of how I want to practice doing my daily goals Now my daily goals Keep my room electronic-free Do service when I'm lonely Memorize when I drift off into an imaginary world Call someone when I feel tempted Repent each night Monday: * Today I learned a bit in Joseph Smith History, specifically in verse74.  This is right after Joseph and Oliver were baptized and received the priesthood.  Previous to this they had been translating and learning new things but right after they received the ordinance of baptism, holy ghost, and priesthood they say that their minds were e...

Amber - What is the point?

I know last week I was hopeful again but it quickly took a nose dive.  To be honest it has actually been nearly a week since I've written anything.  I kind of broke down this week when I was faced with writing and realized I didn't want to do it anymore.  The purpose of writing here was to have some place where I would get some accountability.  Someone is going to see it so that gave me enough motivation to keep going.  It's more sustainable than talking to someone live because you don't have to set up a time.  It's also less disappointing then texting someone because either way you rarely get a response but since a post is to anyone and not a particular someone it doesn't matter so much that there isn't a response.  However, I've not seen anyone on here for almost 2 months and I just don't have the motivation to keep at it by myself.  What is the point of sharing to an empty space?  The problem is that I have generally had some of the ...

Amber - Hopeful Again

Hello my friends I am feeling better about this plan again.  I wasn't doing much the week before but that memorizing tool has made a huge difference for the temple covenants and the real world aspirations.  I'm keeping it all the same but am tired of the goal list as it so I'm not copying and pasting this time.  Here is a list of all the specific things I'm trying to do and if you want to know how it works with my goals then go to last week's blog. First the one time things. Make a service jar Write up my call list Make a sign to put on my door for electronic-free space Make signs of my goals to put on my goal board Make said goal board Make signs of affirmations and put up Make a plan of what extra things I'm going to study Make a plan of how I want to practice doing my daily goals Now my daily goals Keep my room electronic-free Do service when I'm lonely Memorize when I drift off into an imaginary world Call someone when I feel tempted Repent each night Mo...
