Amber - Hopeful Again
Hello my friends I am feeling better about this plan again. I wasn't doing much the week before but that memorizing tool has made a huge difference for the temple covenants and the real world aspirations. I'm keeping it all the same but am tired of the goal list as it so I'm not copying and pasting this time. Here is a list of all the specific things I'm trying to do and if you want to know how it works with my goals then go to last week's blog.
First the one time things.
- Make a service jar
- Write up my call list
- Make a sign to put on my door for electronic-free space
- Make signs of my goals to put on my goal board
- Make said goal board
- Make signs of affirmations and put up
- Make a plan of what extra things I'm going to study
- Make a plan of how I want to practice doing my daily goals
Now my daily goals
- Keep my room electronic-free
- Do service when I'm lonely
- Memorize when I drift off into an imaginary world
- Call someone when I feel tempted
- Repent each night
Monday:
* I read a nice thing today. Also I've started a new thing with my reading. If grandma is up and not busy then I will read to her. She really liked it today. D&C 10:25 says that Satan tells people that there is no sin in deceiving someone who is being deceitful. If you think about it you may be doing some good if you stop them from hurting the innocent. However, in the Lord's eyes it is still a sin. You cannot justify your own sins just because someone else is doing it. It came to my brain that it is the same for the good that you do. Sometimes we compare ourselves to what others do and look down on what we are doing. However, a good thing is still worthy of praise even when it seems to pale in comparison to other's good deeds. None is better than others for the amount or size of their good deeds. God values each good deed and blesses the doers for their goodness.
- I woke up with a cold which left too exhausted to do anything today.
Tuesday:
* I had the worst day today, everything was awful. I got nothing done, still felt sick though not so tired so I should have done better today. I spent the whole day trying to occupy grandma because she was distressed. By dinner time I was really done. I started cooking with plenty of time but had so many interruptions with the bathroom and grandma that I was late. In the middle I realized I had a raging headache. After dinner I tried to do stuff but after the first 30 mins the painkiller seemed to disappear and my headache turned into a migraine. I took a nap and it became a dull ache so I got up to do all the things I didn't do yesterday. However, I had to do a bunch of prep work for one project and then another thing failed the first time. After doing only those two things it was bedtime so I went to bed. It was only then that I realized I never read my scriptures! This happens every single time I don't read. Everything goes wrong and all my attempts fail in some manner.
Wednesday:
* After yesterday I of course decided I must read early. I read a part in D&C 10 that said something to this effect, the light shineth and the darkness comprehendeth it not. I though how true that is in people. When people have too much darkness in them then they don't get why someone would ever follow the gospel. They don't understand the light, it doesn't make sense to them.
- So I have done nothing from the list, right now I'm just trying to recover from being sick both physically but also housekeeping stuff.
Thursday:
* I read stuff and listened/watched a conference talk with Grandma but I didn't get anything significant out of it. If I get myself to read more then I will share any tidbits.
- Good thing happened today, not on the list but still wanted to share. But first a little background. I have been gaining a bit of weight over time, it is more than I've ever weighed and I've been not so happy about it. I'll need to lose about 45 pounds now. The weight loss plan I did with my energy work said that one of the keys to losing weight was to love your body how it is right now (if the body is loved it will help it be more healthy). I've been working on it and have finally decided to quit waiting to buy clothes or make things for myself. This is good in and of itself. However, today I was in the bathroom and I took a glance at myself in the mirror and realized I don't look fat, I actually look really good and I have a nice shape. It has lifted a weight off of my shoulders. I still want to get back down to a more healthy weight and I know how to do that and sometime I will but it was nice to not be stressing about it right now.
I completely quit writing for a little bit so I can't remember the rest of this week.
