Amber - Getting back up

Ok I've asked a few people and they said they would help so I'm going at it again this week.  Same goals as before.

First the one time things.
  • Make a service jar
  • Write up my call list
  • Make a sign to put on my door for electronic-free space
  • Make signs of my goals to put on my goal board
  • Make said goal board
  • Make signs of affirmations and put up
  • Make a plan of what extra things I'm going to study
  • Make a plan of how I want to practice doing my daily goals
Now my daily goals
  • Keep my room electronic-free
  • Do service when I'm lonely
  • Memorize when I drift off into an imaginary world
  • Call someone when I feel tempted
  • Repent each night
Monday:

* Today I learned a bit in Joseph Smith History, specifically in verse74.  This is right after Joseph and Oliver were baptized and received the priesthood.  Previous to this they had been translating and learning new things but right after they received the ordinance of baptism, holy ghost, and priesthood they say that their minds were enlightened, the scriptures were opened to their understandings, and mysterious passages became clear and all in a manner they had been unable to attain before or that they had never thought of before.  This is what ordinances can do for you.  They bring you more light and understanding just by entering into covenants with God.  It is the same for keeping those covenants.  The better you keep them the more light, knowledge, and understanding you have.
  • Today was a bit of a rough day as far as goals go.  I didn't do a single thing but I have tomorrow to do better.
Tuesday:

* So I didn't sleep well last night and didn't feel well the whole day.  Ate way too much sugar yesterday.  So though I did read I wasn't focused enough to get anything out of it.
  • Like I said I wasn't feeling well so no progress on the goals.  I did manage to cook dinner, get a little bit of cleaning done, and some energy work but mostly I stayed in bed.
Wednesday:

* I loved my study today.  I read in Come Follow for D&C 14.  One part gives a list of scriptures that compare the word of God to something.  I loved a couple of them such as a seed or a lamp but my favorite is in Isaiah 55:10-11. This one compares it to rain and snow.  It says it "watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater."  The word of God does go forth and make things grow, it gives us life and light and hope, spiritual food that makes things beautiful all around.  Without it the world seems lonely and dry and without hope.  Many people feel lost and afraid right now but the word of God can fix that.
  • So I didn't do any of the above goals very well.  However I feel like I'm getting back into a position to do it.  I'm getting to bed earlier and doing my energy work again.  Also been working on my most recent project so yipee there.
Thursday:

* I studied D&C 15-16, there are both exactly the same.  This made me think of yesterday's study.  So the Lord says that the thing that will be of most worth will be to share the gospel.  If you compare yesterday's study then it puts in into a different light.  Sharing the gospel is like giving someone life giving water.  Before they were barren and dry and now they have something that will make their life grow, bud, bring forth seeds, give food to sustain them, and make their life beautiful.  That is an amazing gift.  Often the people you give to don't even know what they are missing and it is amazing when someone uses that gift to help them grow.
  • Alright so I got a tiny bit of work done today but not on my goals.  This time I have an excuse, I was gone all day up north and only had enough time to do that little bit of work.  So there I feel ok about it but I'm really excited about tomorrow.
Friday:

* In section 17 I found two things I liked.  The first in verse one says to "rely upon my word" and then you will receive the blessing you asked for.  That is true for any righteous desire.  I have these goals here and I rely upon myself and sometimes I put that before relying upon what the Lord has said.  However, in verse eight it says "my grace is sufficient for you".  The Lord is capable of making up what we can't do and plus he knows the best way to reach what we want.  Therefore it is the most logical and sound to rely on what he says because I will succeed for sure.  Especially because I feel good about the direction I'm headed
  • Success today I actually did something.  I prepared all of the signs and affirmations for printing.  I'm waiting for ink, I haven't been able to print since before Christmas because I've been waiting for Britney to get some and she has been waiting for the store in town to get some and finally I've pushed enough that she ordered some elsewhere but it was backordered so hopefully next week.  If not I'm going to blow a fuse and go get some myself.  I have a backlog of printing jobs and it's get unacceptable especially when I need them for my goal progress.
  • I'm hoping to get other stuff done tomorrow
Saturday:

* I found a little quote in a talk by Cristina Franco "The Healing Power of Jesus Christ".  She quotes Isaiah and says that so expansive is the healing power of Jesus Christ that he can exchange "beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness."  Today I feel very tired and a little depressed but this talk was good for both me and for grandma, it totally calmed her down and cheered her up.  Now she is watching planet earth which we all enjoy watching over here.
  • Alright I made an effort but didn't work on it first because I was so desperate to get my stuff cleaned in the basement.  I've not cleaned in there for about six months or so.  I just keep adding stuff to the pile.  So I did get most of the room picked up now I just have little piles everywhere and I have to figure out where to put everything.  So yay for cleaning but alas I didn't get any of my goal stuff done.
Sunday:

* I forgot to study again, just Sundays it's so strange to me.  Also I planned to get goal stuff done but I wasn't feeling well and it took me the entire day to cook dinner and clean up from it.  Seriously I finished doing the dishes at just before 9pm.  I did take a couple of rest breaks but not for very long and we did a zoom.

On to next week.

    2. The important thing is that you keep trying and keep getting up!
And you are better at that than anyone I know!
