Addy - Weird Dreams

Spring is here! We've had some sunshine here in Walla Walla and I didn't realize how much I've missed it.

Spiritual - I've been working on making my prayers more meaningful this week and have found that whatever hard things I go through or goals I don't meet, I always end up feeling at peace with myself and somehow I have the energy to take the next step. I've been studying Enos, one of my favorite stories. In verse 2, Enos talks about the wrestle he had before God before he was forgiven. I was always a little confused as to what the word "wrestle" meant in a spiritual sense. And perhaps it can mean many things, but I read President Nelson's talk, "Let God Prevail" where he talks about deciding what is most important to us and wrestling with the natural man and ultimately letting God prevail in out lives. We have stop thinking we know better than God and be willing to let go of things we think we need for something better.

Health - I've been trying to make sure I have something for breakfast every day and cutting down on my sugar intake and I feel like I did a pretty good job this week. I missed one of my workouts but got back on track the next day. Today I was able to get through my workout without having to stop to catch my breath so yay! I've been having really weird scary dreams and waking up several times in the middle of the night, so I haven't had the greatest sleep. I'm way too attached to Tycho and I think a lot of them are about him dying because when I wake up at night I often check to make sure he's still breathing, so I can't imagine what it might be like when I have kids, yikes! Maybe I need to do something like drink a cup of sleepy time tea before bed?

Educational - This week I took some time and learned about the Rabari tribe in India. Many of them live a nomadic lifestyle or in mud huts, which they are very skilled in decorating. The women of the tribe are well known for their skill at embroidery and they often use pieces of mirror in both their embroidery and mud relief work because they believe it wards off the evil eye. I also learned that even tiny hamsters can bite, hard. I was helping one of our doctors look at one that was only the size of a spoon, and it made both of us bleed!

Also, I haven't had to drive my car in at least a month and I was afraid it wouldn't start, but I made sure it had enough oil and it started up without a problem!

  1. Wow nice week Addy! I'm liking your idea of educational goals. I forgot how depressing Walla Walla is in the winter maybe that is contributing to your dreams. I'm sure I've told you before but I used to have nightmares that were so scary I couldn't move sometimes. That was over 15 years ago. One night was really bad so I prayed to calm down and decided that I didn't want to have them anymore. I asked for that blessing and every night since then if I say my prayer I don't have any scary dreams. Some of them should be like my dream of Chad as a vampire or dreams of being chased and attacked or even dreams about the ocean but they are never scary. I think God wants to give us the things we want far more often then we think we can have them. Sometimes you just have to ask.

  3. I've been having horrible dreams too the past few weeks. Despite me praying and asking to have better dreams, I still had the,. So I had Austin give me a blessing the other day, and no more bad dreams! Good job on your goals!
