Amber - Keep going

Guys I'm tired right now.  I've had small progress on my weeks here and I'm losing enthusiasm.  I've been able to get good scripture study and I've been able to write here consistently.  Everything else has been so-so.  I don't have the energy to figure out if I should change anything so I'm keeping the same this week. Goals for the week: 1. Good prayers morning, midday, and evening. 2. Morning and evening routines when I can, meaning if my sickness allows. 3. Phone out of the room. 4. Changed my mind I want to focus on less so I'm taking this one off, also because I've completely ignored. 5. Oh also my crafting/sewing/or project stuff. Monday: * I was still depressed so I didn't get anything. I woke up at around 7 but didn't quite get up right away. I had a morning prayer, no midday prayer, also had an evening prayer. Phone wherever today. Stayed up playing on the computer. Tuesday: * I read Alma 39 and I've always liked it.  I've be...

Amber - I can pray

Like I said I'm going to put better focus on the prayer this week.  I'm sick right now as we speak and this makes it super difficult to do my morning and evening routines.  However I can definitely pray so I'm going to do that this week!  Also I did some body code work and discovered that I have excess chemical toxicity from sugar.  Big surprise!  I just recently downed two bags of candy within two days.  Every time I start to feel good then I go and eat excessive sugar and then I get sick.  This time the sick was worse so I've decided I need to get off the sugar.  I'm going to restrict my sugar intake by saying no to all desserts, sugary toppings, and juices for this week and then we will see.  The only exception is the gatorade I'm sipping right now because I'm a little too dehydrated.  Also I'm going to put the family history goal aside this week because I'm getting a little overwhelmed with the amount of goals that I'm failing at....

Amber - Moving on

So I tried the redo week and it was not successful, I'm going to change this week a little.  First and foremost the one thing I did great and have done great for the whole time is my scripture study.  This means I'm moving it off of the 21 days though obviously I'll still be posting my thought.  Also I have been quite failing at not eating after 6 so I think I'm taking that off for now.  Part of the problem has been not eating enough before 6 and the other is that I always want to eat desserts.  I'm going to do a scheduled meal plan thing later but I have some goals I'd like to do first.  So with two goals off of the focused list that leaves me room to add more.  So here are all of the goals for this week. Focus list: 1. Morning and Evening Routines.  I must get these down so they are number one on the list. 2. Phone out of the room.  This one has been a little difficult and I would like to make it less annoying for me.  So I'm going to ...

Amber - Let's Try it Again

I want to a do over of last week because I don't feel I got it good enough.  Also from one study I read it takes a minimum of 21 days to form a habit but it could take up to 8 months for that habit to stick.  The 21 days is more like it takes you 21 days to get used to doing something new.  The average in that study was 66 days.  I've never measured my own habit timeline so I don't know where I fall in there.  So what I've decided is that I need to successfully do the habit for 21 days, this doesn't mean I'm expecting perfection but that if I mess up a couple or even a few if I still feel I've been successful at the end then it will pass the 21 days.  After that I'll stop hyper focusing on it but I will still keep track of it.  Every time I can move a goal past the 21 days then I can add new goals.  At the end of 70 days (rounded up from 66 so it will be an even 10 weeks) I'll evaluate and if I feel it is a habit then I'm going to consider it don...

Amber - Extending the foundation time

I didn't do well enough last week so we are going to go for a third week.  However I'm adding a couple little goals and tweaking my evening routine.   1.  To the routine I'm setting two alarms.  The first will be a warning alarm to give me a chance to wrap up whatever I'm doing.  The second will be right at 9:30 and I have to immediately turn off all electronics.   2.  I've noticed a slow of productivity due to the amount of time I've spent on my phone and most of that is when I'm in my room.   Also if my phone is in the room when I go to sleep and when I wake then I get to sleep later and it distracts me during my morning routine.  So I'm banning my phone from my room.  I've tried this before and I sleep better and spend less time on it so I'm doing that again. 3.  I've gained a lot of weight over the last year and it's definitely affected me.  I have less energy, I've had more foot pain, I've had to replace my ...

Amber's Foundations Week 2

I'm halfway there.  First a review of the last week.  I've done super good on the scripture study so yay!  It has made a difference everyday.  My sleeping routine has become more of a habit.  Mornings are going great, my body wakes up at 6 on its own and if I'm not feeling sick then I'm getting up and doing that routine.  However evening has been a struggle.  I have the hardest time letting go and getting to bed.  I'm just not ready to be done having fun!  However I've learned that I have to keep my fun second to my schedule or I don't get anything done and I don't get sleep and I don't feel good when I get up.  So the good thing is that when I get to bedtime I'm almost always tired.  I've got to get this evening routine down. If I can do well on that this week then I will move on next week.  Otherwise I will go for week three of my foundations.  So on to this week. Monday: My thought today is from Alma 17.  In it it ...

Amber's foundations week 1

Ok I didn't find time to post yesterday's results so here they are today.  Also here is a quick reminder of what I'm aiming for these two weeks: 1-Better scripture study 2-Resetting my sleep schedule 3-Working on my sewing /craft projects Monday: Scripture thought is in Alma 13:10, 12-13.  I've always admired those in the scriptures who it said they looked upon sin with abhorrence.  Obviously that doesn't mean the sinners just the sins themselves.  I feel like I am tempted way to easily it doesn't seem that bad to me and I would love to be able to easily refuse to give in to a temptation because I could tell how bad it was for me and the people around me.  I would like to say "why in the world would I ever want to do that".  I do feel that way for some things, they just aren't a temptation for me, I would also like to feel that way for all the other sins.  So in the verses above it talks about one of the ways to achieve that state and it is...
