Amber - Moving forward

So this week I'm repeating my goals but I'm not feeling sick anymore and what I didn't say last week is that I did do better during the day on my daily tasks.  So while my goals didn't succeed at all I'm hoping that the improvement will bleed into my goals.  Also I'm going to split up and add a little bit more of the morning routine which sounds like a very foolish thing, however I feel like it will help.  Here are the goals below.  I am going to work on 1-6.

1. 8:30 I say my repentance prayer.

2. I make a plan and prepare for the next day.

3. 10:00 I get off of all electronics.

4. 10:30 I go to bed.

5. I get up at 6 am.

6. I exercise first thing.

7. I do the rest of my morning routine.

8. I add the rest of evening routine.

Monday:

* I decided to share something I found last week.  In Elder Bednar's talk "Let This House Be Built unto My Name", he talks of the temple.  Obviously we can't attend as we were used to but I think it is important to remember one of the purposes of attending the temple.  Elder Bednar says that "We do not come to the temple to hide from or escape the evils of the world. Rather, we come to the temple to conquer the world of evil".  I've often liked to come to the temple to escape and that is nice.  However when you go to the temple and keep your covenants you are endowed with power that is real and that does give you the ability to conquer the evil in your own life.

  • I woke up today, not early enough, it was close to 8 and I don't know for sure why.  I set an alarm but I must have slept right through it.
  • It was so late that I didn't want to take time to exercise.  I also felt very depressed today and I couldn't get rid of it all day long.  Come to think of it I probably should have exercised anyways, it could have helped.
  • I also did horribly on my other goals.  No early prayer.  I went to bed with my phone and stayed up way too late.  However before sleep I rolled over and made a plan for tomorrow.
Tuesday:

* I read "Finding Refuge from the Storms of Life" by Ricardo P. Gimenez.  There is a funny thing about faith which makes it hard for people who rely on the world.  It is found in this quote " to one who has faith no explanation is necessary.  To one without faith, no explanation is possible."  When I have explained how I believe to others what is logical to me is harder to grasp for them.  It is something you have to experience, and it is not always the best experience unless your faith is in Jesus Christ.  Faith in other things can lead you to be disappointed or feel betrayed.  Faith in Christ is sure because he is the way and he will not fail.  He never disappoints because he has all power, all knowledge, and an all encompassing love for every being in the universe.  Nobody and nothing else we might put our trust in, excepting God our Father, has all of those things.
  • I woke up late again.  I need to get more sleep and then practice my alarm reactions again.
  • I woke up feeling sick (I ate too many cookies) and didn't feel up to exercise.
  • I did say my prayer though it was late and it wasn't as good as I would like but it was more than usual so it counts.
  • I did not plan my day nor get off electronics before bed.  Also I did not go to bed on time but I have a thing about that one.  I took a nap.  Yes I who never can sleep during the day I laid down for a brief relaxing moment to play a puzzle.  I was so tired that when I finished my puzzle I put my phone down and thought what if I was able to sleep right now, that would feel good.  That was the last thing I remembered until over 2 hours later when I woke up.  When 10 came around I was wide awake and decided to work on my paper dolls.  I felt tired enough at 12 and went to sleep.
  • Oh also I started inking the doll dresses and then I'll be able to import them onto the computer.

Wednesday:

* I read a lot today but the thing I wish to share was from yesterday's talk that I mentioned in my thought.  It is about Jesus Christ and how is the one who can help us.  President Nelson was quoted as saying "When the focus of our lives is on God's plan of salvation...and Jesus Christ and His gospel, we can feel joy regardless of what is happening-or not happening-in our lives.  Joy comes from and because of Him.  He is the source of all joy."  When you let other things become the focus then you will notice that something is missing.  Without Him there is no lasting happiness because he is the source of that happiness.  You want a happy experience, then involve Christ in what you are doing.

  • I woke at 6 as my alarm dictated.  Grandma was already up and in the middle of showering but Grandpa thought that was too early so he had her go back to sleep for another hour.  Hence I was able to get a few things done before I did her hair.  They are going to deliver an order this morning and I'm not going with them this time.  Mom and I have been working on energy healing for weight-loss.  I've been working on having a healthy balance with food, especially with junk food and we have both felt different since we started.  Oddly enough on Monday we were both awake at 3 am hungry.  I'm never hungry at night.  Also since I started eating a lot of junk has made me pretty sick.  In fact yesterday I ate almost none at all because I was getting a little worried about how sick I was feeling.  At the same time I've been hungrier and I can't decide if it's just cravings or if I'm needing something particular to eat.  So I can't say what or what the results will be but something is changing and that is probably a good thing.
  • I did actually exercise today.  Oh boy am I out of shape!  I did 10 mins of a more active yoga session and I was really tired at the end and now my arms are sore.  It was only 10 mins!
  • I did not do any of my other goals and I was in bed at 11.
Thursday:

* I read a great talk by Elder Christofferson called, "Sharing the Message of the Restoration and the Resurrection."  There were lots of little things I liked but here is my favorite.  He notes that despite how we share the gospel, most of our invitations will probably be rejected.  Then he says "But remember this, everyone is worthy of such an invitation."  So no matter our fears of their response they are worth it to offer them the chance to accept.
  • Good morrow people.  I am quite tired today.  Yesterday I was exhausted all day and didn't get things done like I wanted.  Today I feel the same but I may still be a bit sick.  So I'm going to take things one at a time and get it done well and rest when I must.  I woke on and off from 7 until 8.
  • No exercise for me today.
Oops I didn't finish this week.  I know I did stuff Friday and I had a thought somewhere but it is now next week so I'm just going to start a new post and leave this as it is.  Oh with one good news thing.  Conference was great and I got new enthusiasm and inspiration so Sunday night I was in bed by 9:30 and at 8:30 I immediately reacted to my alarm, said my prayer, and planned and prepared for the next day.
