Amber - Yay I feel good

If you read the end of last week you would know that conference influenced me to have a good end of the week.  Though not just conference, I did a bit of energy healing on my problem of not going to bed and I feel better about it right now.  So again I'm repeating the exact same thing as last week but this week I'm making it a priority.  I didn't recognize it but I had let these goals slip into less important because I was trying to do other things.  I do really well focusing on one thing at a time.  These goals just have to be first and everything else is subservient.  Here are the goals below.  I'm working on 1-6.

1. 8:30 I say my repentance prayer.

2. I make a plan and prepare for the next day.

3. 10:00 I get off of all electronics.

4. 10:30 I go to bed.

5. I get up at 6 am.

6. I exercise first thing.

7. I do the rest of my morning routine.

8. I add the rest of evening routine.

Monday:

* I read a few sections in 3 Ne.  After watching conference I realized most of what I got out of it was stuff I've been getting out of my scripture study.  It's a repeat not new stuff.  Jesus talks about this in 3 Nephi 26:9.  We are given the same stuff because one we need it and two we haven't yet got it through our heads yet.  We don't get new things if we aren't doing what we were told previously.  Jesus says that if "they shall believe these things then shall the greater things be made manifest unto them."  Then he also says that if you don't then you won't get the greater things.  In this instance believe is definitely implying action, not just saying you believe but doing something about it so your life aligns with those beliefs.

  • I got nearly 9 hours of sleep and I was up by 7.
  • I exercised, I did a 12 minute yoga session.
  • I said my prayer 10 mins late because I wasn't near my alarm.
  • Alas I didn't plan or prepare for tomorrow.
  • Also I couldn't get myself off the phone so I went to bed at 11.
  • I worked on my paperdoll formals.  I have 9 dresses in the works and 4 are ready for coloring with 4 more nearly done and 1 needs a bit more work.  Maybe I'll finish them tomorrow and you can see pictures.  It's a bit of a process.  I have to trace the doll shape and make sure I'm following that shape when I draw the clothing.  I then use a pencil and get it how I think I want it.  However the next step is to draw over the pencil with pen and there I found I often had too many lines.  So then I scan them in and touch up all the lines and then erase the ones I didn't like.  Unfortunately I don't have a good tool to draw on the computer with so for three of the dresses that meant I erased the trouble spots, printed them, drew in pencil until I was happy and then ink it again.  Alas one of the dresses still didn't work out but I'm hoping I can fix it on the computer once I scan them in again.  Once they are all ready then I fit them so there is more to a page and I print and color and laminate.  Lots of work just for a few dresses, but it has been fun to draw my own stuff.

Tuesday:

* Today I found my thought in chapter 27 of 3 Nephi.  Christ emphasized works in judgement.  You can't just say I believe you must have action that accompanies this proclaimed belief.  You are judged by your works.  Though if that were the only qualifier then none of us would make it.  He also said that it was the repentance of all your sins and your faithfulness to the end.  The repentance is vital because it is how we access the atonement of Christ so that we will not be judged by our bad works.  However notice that both repentance and faithfulness to the end are both works.  What we strive to do with our lives and put our main focus on is what we will be judged by.  We will still make mistakes but if the focus is on Christ and we keep working on being better one thing at a time then it won't matter when we are called home.  If the Lord is first in our heart, mind, and works then He will take care of all the other stuff.

  • I still woke up early but I didn't get out of bed until 7:30ish or so.
  • I did 10 mins of yoga.
  • I made it on time to say my prayer!
  • Alas Mom and the grandkids were here so I didn't get to bed or get off electronics until 11.  Also I didn't plan for the day.
Wednesday:

* In 3 Nephi 27 Christ talks about the name of his church.  Logically I've always known why the church is called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, however it hit me especially strong today.  In verse 5 Jesus says that we must take upon us his name.  What more fitting way of reminding ourselves that we have done so.  Especially with the emphasis on the proper name of the church.  Remembering to say the full name will help us remember that as a member of his church we are representing him.  This in turn will help us make the decisions that reflect that.  I also think it will help develop and improve our relationship with Jesus Christ.  We will naturally be thinking of him more often.
  • So much has happened that I've forgotten exactly when I woke up but it was later than I'd like.  The kids were running around making noise.  They thought it great fun to drag the dog all over with her leash.  She has a ton of energy so she lasted most of the day until around dinner.  She can be a bit overwhelming to children because she jumps on people and starts to play bite.  However I was proud of those kids because I told them how to handle her and they all were able to quickly stop her whenever she tried to get rough.
  • No exercise we had too many things planned and I got up too late.
  • Again I was able to say my prayer on time!
  • Also again I was late with my bed time.  I got off the electronics and into bed at 11.  In addition I didn't plan or prepare.

Thursday:

* I found a thought in 3 Ne 28.  In the first part of the chapter Christ asks his disciples what they want before he leaves.  Most ask to go the heaven when they die and three ask to not die and continue to preach the gospel.  He grants them all their desires.  I find it interesting how united they all were in their desires but more than that it is an example of being a disciple of Christ.  Think about it Christ essentially granted them one wish, they could have asked for whatever they wanted, they knew he had the power.  What they all truly desired were things of heaven and not of the world.  So the question is then what do we truly desire, offered one wish from the Savior would we choose things of heaven or of earth?  I'm not sure exactly what I would ask for.

  • I woke a little after six but didn't get up until 6:45.  However I have to say that the things I'm doing are having an amazing effect on me.  The biggest change I've noticed is spiritually. Between my steady scripture study and my energy healing I am beginning to feel like I haven't in 8 years!  I'm beginning to feel like myself again.  Though in some ways even better and not just spiritually.  Soon after starting this energy healing I had been feeling pretty good most days, however, in the last week or two I've been extremely happy when I wake up. I wake up on a high and I have totally noticed an increase in energy.  I'm able to do quite a bit more than I have been able to do in the last year or so.
  • I did another yoga, 13 mins this time.  I'm going to work up to longer ones.  Today was pretty quick and it wore me out a bit more than usual.
  • Ok I had a bad night.  I misstepped on the basement stairs and hurt my ankle.  My fault for not bringing a light in the dark.  However I didn't do any of my evening stuff and instead stayed up until 1.
Friday:

* I read today and didn't get a whole lot out of my reading.  So what I have to share is a more of what I've been learning.  A couple days ago I watched a video about this energy healing that I've been doing and the speaker talked about her struggle to eat healthy and how she learned to listen to her body.  Sometimes she would choose to not listen to it and then would experience the consequences and over time was able to choose the healthy option.  I'm pretty good at hearing what my body doesn't want to eat and I'm pretty practiced at ignoring it even knowing full well what the consequence is going to be.  I'm starting resisting more which is great but even more exciting it is affecting my spiritual choices as well.  Choosing the correct choice from a spiritual standpoint is becoming super easy.  Now I want to be clear that I fully attribute these changes to God, he is the one who has directed me to these resources and he is the one who authored and inspired these resources.  Ok enough of that on to what the spiritual thought part.  So I'm doing better and better but last night I experienced this not listening and feeling the consequences thing.  This time I was not listening to the spirit.  I was headed down into the basement after dark and there is no light that reaches those stairs anymore.  I felt I should go get my headlamp, that's what I usually bring but my arms were full of stuff and I'd gone in the dark before and I decided just to keep going.  Yep you guessed it, that is where I hurt my ankle.  I thought I was at the bottom and I stepped down with two more steps to go and fell.  I knew I'd hurt my ankle immediately and took care of it but if I had listened I would have seen the stairs and not been hurt.  In 3 Ne 29:5 it says "Wo unto him that spurneth at the doings of the Lord; yea, wo unto him that shall deny the Christ and his works!"  That sounds a lot stronger than what I was doing but the results are quite similar.  Those who choose to not believe and follow Christ don't have the guidance of the Holy Ghost.  They are left to figure it out in their own mortal way.  It is always better to follow he who knows all and who loves all.  He has all the answers and the power to do what he says and he loves us enough to plan the best for us.  I'm motivated to listen next time.
  • My ankle hurts just as much as yesterday but I had ice on it for like 4 hours yesterday and there is little to no swelling that I can see.  Also no bruising and I am able to walk on it.  Despite this I am still really happy.  In the past this would have made me super depressed and dropped me out for a day or two.  Well I am sitting here writing this and doing all the things I was going to, though at a slower rate and while sitting stationary right now.  Which I guess means I'm not doing everything but the point is that I've not lost enthusiasm for doing the things I can do.
  • I woke up late today but considering my late and uncomfortable night I'm not surprised.
  • Obviously yoga would be foolish so soon after an injury so no exercise.
Unfortunately I didn't record anything else for the week.  I didn't feel up to it and I didn't really find anything to share.  Saturday was a not so great day for me.  However I'm ready to start next week's post so see the that one for a continuation of my goals.
