Amber - This week

It is a new week and I'm still working on my goals.  Actually it is Wednesday.  I just haven't felt up to posting lately but I did get thoughts and have a done a couple things so I'll put those down here.

Monday:

* In Proverbs 15:26 it speaks of the difference between the righteous and the wicked.  The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination and the words of the pure are pleasant words.  You can be defined by the things you say and do but also by your thoughts.  They are major contributors in who you become and whether you are counted among the wicked or the righteous.

  • I have completely ignored my goals today, not a one did I do nor did I think about it.  The only thing I did similar was to do energy healing and that is because I am on a schedule and I can't miss a day without crunching things which is not very effective.  So I keep to the schedule.
  • I did a little bit of work on my embroidery.  Also Mom was here so I was pretty busy.
Tuesday:

* I really loved this concept in Heb 4:12, that the word of God is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of your heart.  I've noticed this when I'm reading and I'll compare what the scriptures say or the prophet's tell us we should be doing with what I'm focus on in my life.  What you focus on and put your time into is a good indicator of where your heart is.  Sometimes I see that I need to correct in my course to line up with what I actually want.
  • Today I also ignored all of my goals.  It was one of the more all consuming days I've had.  I did my morning stuff, did laundry and dishes and spent the rest of the time taking care of Grandma.  She had a rough day yesterday until her ride.  We had a party to go to for her and we told her earlier in the day and this made her think she needed to do stuff to get ready but she couldn't figure out what.  She spent a couple hours stressing about it and wandering to an fro trying to figure out what she had to do.  I tried distracting her with laundry but once she thinks she has responsibility she won't let it go!  So instead of putting away the clothes she kept putting them on.  She often changes if she is supposed to go somewhere but she was so confused that she kept trying on grandpa's shirts and then when I helped her put those away she started wearing all of his garments.  It should have been funny but I got so frustrated that I finally told her I would do the rest and she got angry at me.  First time that's happened I think.  Grandpa took her for a ride and had a nice long talk and told her she didn't have to do anything for it.  She believes Grandpa more often than she believes me.  So the moral of the story is Grandma should not be told anything before hand unless there is something she can do to prepare or get ready for it the whole time.  She doesn't look forward to things so much as she stresses about them.
  • I finally finished the main part of my embroidery.  I can't remember what I shared before but I am making a historical scissors case in order to learn some basic embroidery stitches.  It is part of a youtube educational video series.  This is the first project and here is a progress picture for you.

Wednesday:

* Similar subject all of this week.  D&C 6:33 says what you sow you reap.  So by this formula if you allow bad or negative thoughts to reign in your mind you will then reap bad or negative things in your life.  Same is true for good or positive thoughts, they will abound in your life if you are choosing them over the other.  They will come out in your language and in your actions.  They will become the things you want and the things you strive for.  You will attract like-minded people and complementary experiences.  Of course you will still have trials because you are here to grow and of course you will still get blessings because God gives some even when you are not doing as he asks.  However you can change who you are and create who you will become just by the things your thoughts.
  • Still not doing any goals today, maybe tomorrow or maybe I'll take a break for this week.
Thursday:

*I'm giving a talk on Sunday on Controlling your thoughts.  I found a wonderful quote in a tiny book I have "As a Man Thinketh".  I share it today as my thought "A noble and Godlike character is not a thing of favor or chance, but is the natural result of continued effort in...association with Godlike thoughts."  To be like God then start thinking like God.  The phrase "what would Jesus do" suddenly goes from something we ought to do to a tool that you can depend on producing certain results.  You want to be like Jesus then think those thoughts and the results will have to follow, it's a law of nature.
  • Not doing great at any goals this week and I ate to much sugar yesterday which has made me sick today.  I might be in survival mode right now but on the other hand my study for my talk is giving me more resources and understanding of how to use the resources I have.
Friday:

* Another quote from the same book as yesterday.  This one is about allowing doubt and fear.  "Doubts and fears should be rigorously excluded; they are disintegrating elements that break up the straight line of effort, rendering it crooked, ineffectual, useless....Purpose, energy, power to do, and all strong thoughts cease when doubt and fear creep in.  The Will to do springs from the knowledge that we can do."  My key is to confirm what I plan to do with God in prayer.  Once I get approval, or instruction to do something different, then I can continue without doubting.  I know whatever happens it will be the best thing because he who knows all things has told me so.
  • Nothing special happened today except I used new rollers in Grandma's hair and it looked the best I've been able to get it yet.
Saturday:

* I studied but didn't really find a thought, I was focused on prepping the talk and I already shared things I learned for that.
  • Grandma's hair didn't stay as long as when she gets it done in the salon but better than I've ever got it to stay before so yay for baby steps of progress!
Sunday:

* I didn't study today but I gave my talk so that was nice.
  • Again no work on my goals.
Next week will be different.  Despite the lack of apparent effort here I am working on some other goals and things are changing and though it is slow it feels like it's lasting and I am happy.
