Amber - Getting Tired

I'm getting tired of writing in this blog, maybe I'm just tired all together.  I am very behind on everything but I run out of energy far too quickly.  So I am putting my goals down again but I'm not feeling great right now.  However, I'm not changing them because I also feel really good about how they are right now.

  • My room is an electronic-free space
  • Keep my temple covenants so that one day I can share a beautiful relationship with my chosen partner
  • I like staying in the real world because of all of the wonderful real experiences I have in it
Below are my goals that will help make this a reality.
  1. Make signs of goals and affirmations as needed and display them where I will see.
  2. Study extra resources on each of the three sub goals.
  3. Work on changing my reactions to triggers.
    • When I feel lonely I pick something from my service list and do it
    • When I have trouble staying in the real world then I work on my current memorizing item
    • When I feel tempted then I call someone on my close to list
  4. Practice all of the above (pausing to read signs and visualizing, picking up my memorizing, feeling lonely, and anything else).
  5. Repent every night before bed.
Monday:

* I liked a bit in D&C 5:7.  If you can't believe the gospel without seeing then seeing is not going to convince you.  The testimony you receive from the Holy Ghost is far more powerful than any other proof.  Other proof can be faked but not the spirit.  Learn to recognize those answers and you can be sure of things even if it doesn't make sense to others.
  • My evenings are usually distracted lately and it is affecting my day.  I did great with my phone for the whole day until bedtime.
  • I've definitely improved on using my memorizing tool.  It is successful when I use it so I'm on the right track.
Tuesday:

* I read D&C 6 and was impressed by a part in verse 14.  It says "blessed are thou for what thou hast done; for thou hast inquired of me, and behold, as often as thou hast inquired thou hast received instruction of my Spirit."  If you think about it when you receive an answer from God it is an amazing thing, it is a blessing.  So many people would love to have that and don't know how to get it.  So we are blessed.
  • I've done well using the memorizing tool.
  • I also have been back into sewing and have finished almost all of the finishing work on the interior of Chad's medieval shirt.  I only need do a little more and then hem things.
Wednesday:

* Still in section 6, I liked the perspective in here.  Christ says that it will be well with you even if people persecute you unto death.  It will be even better if those people instead listen to you for then you can rejoice that they received the gospel.  In other words in the end following the Savior and sharing his message is worth it no matter how your earthly life goes.  Your trials here will be taken care of and your joys will be great.
  • Successful again today with using the memorizing tool, it is making a difference.
  • I've done all of Chad's shirt but the bottom hem!
Thursday:

* I read little section 7 and it almost didn't have anything for me but then I read the last verse.  The section talks about how John desired to live forever and Peter desired to come home quickly.  Jesus tells Peter not to worry about John's desire because it isn't Peter's desire.  The final verse says "ye shall both have according to your desires, for ye both joy in that which ye have desired."  Both desires were righteous and so were worthy to joy in.  As individuals we each have our own talents and missions and our own wishes and desires.  So long as they are righteous they are worth rejoicing in and we need not compare ourselves or judge others for what they have.
  • Still doing good with the memorizing.
  • Also I finished Chad's medieval shirt.  Here is a picture of the complete shirt and one of the inside finished seams.

Friday:

* I read section 8 today but didn't get anything special, I am feeling out of energy.

Saturday:

* I missed a couple days so I know I read section 9 but can't remember anything special here either.
  • Still doing good with the memorizing.
Sunday:

* I read a talk I read today by Sharon Eubank "By Union of Feeling We Obtain Power With God".  My favorite part was when she said to "be free with your mercy that they may be rich like unto you."  Then she quoted her R.S. President saying that she will see her sisters for who they are are at their best.  Each of us is flawed and weak and so we really are all on the same playing field.  When we can see everyone through the eyes of God, see who they are meant to be then it lifts them and we will find unity.
