alyse-updates

Hi!

Its been a second so I guess Ill just do a quick update. I moved to Walla Walla for those that don't know and I am living in a loft apartment with addy and some friends from highschool. I really like the apartment, I have my own room for the first time, yay! I transferred to the ross here so I am working the same job, but I am looking for a different job, its taking a while because I am being picky. I am also looking into going back to the community college to finish my associates in business and then maybe going to wwu for psychology and maybe one day getting Phd. One of the things I would like to do is work with abused or disabled children or people with anti-social disorders. I am also looking into acting in the area and online agencies.

Addy and I haven't been the best influence on each other cause we both like to watch netflix and order takeout alot, so I haven't been very productive. I mostly just work, art, sleep and repeat. However I have been meditating a lot more and trying to workout, I will probably join the gym below us later, but right now I try to go on runs/walks and do a lot of stretching. Last week we had about a 1 1/2 ft of snow and I got stuck in our parking lot everyday haha but its finally starting to melt.

As far as my mental health is going, its improved since I moved to Walla Walla, so I probably will be moving on without admitting myself to a hospital unless things get much worse. However I have been really depressed and have had a hard time getting up in the morning, I usually get up at 12 pm but that also cause I work til 11-12 at night usually. My ptsd has been acting up a lot as well, especially at work which has been difficult for me to focus on my job. So overall I have been a little on edge but I feel much better I promise. I have my first meeting with a therapist in a week so hopefully it goes well.

One of my new morning routines is to draw a little doodle with the pens mom got me for christmas, so here are a few of my favorite

Chad also gave me an idea to one day make a story, lemony snicket/tim burton inspired style. And I liked it so I have been practicing drawing the styles to see which one I like the most. Im thinking of doing almost comic booky story about different mental health disorders, so kinda like calvin and hobbes meets a series of unfortunate events meets tim burton. Anyways this is my favorite one so far

And finally when I meditate I usually see a lot of images in my head, especially portal like doors and lately I decided to draw them so here are a few.

  1. Glad to hear you are doing better and that the move was an improvement. Having your own room is absolutely something to celebrate! I also love the doodles! Those portals are my favorite, they look magical and exciting and I want to step through and explore. The story idea sounds really interesting, whenever you get to it I would be interested to take a look at it.

  2. These are great Alyse! If you need more guided meditations and exercise ideas, the FitOn app has a ton of options! Also, I was reading your post from November, and would love to know some of your healthy food ideas, as I am struggling to drop my baby weight, despite working out 4+ times a week.

  3. Alyse! I love all of your pictures :) You are so talented. Also, I'm glad things are going better. You can always call me or I can call you and wake you up if you need:)I have Aspen to wake up me, and keep me up. She gets me up early and cries at my door if I try and go back to sleep. It's annoying, but nice when i need to get things done. I love you!
