Taylor - Slacker

The title says it all...this week has been kinda trashy for me. As you can tell by me posting towards the end of the week. This and next week is finals, and today I finished 1 out of my 3 classes completely. I've had a pretty good system for getting my AUTOCAD videos done, 1 hour every day (have class for 2 hrs MW, and 1 hr friday) but I've just felt so unfocused and unmotivated, that I only have 1/4 hours done so far. I really want to just throw caution to the wind and take the L on my last assignment (7 assignments for the semester, each worth 100 pts). But skipping it will drop me from a 91% to a C, so there goes that idea. I NEED MOTIVATION! I had a thought tonight that I may not be able to focus well because the room that I do my school work in (well, the entire apartment actually) is a complete mess as I try to pack everything for our move. I may just have to throw everything out, shut the door, light a candle, and listen to some trance music haha. I don't focus well on homework when others are around, so when I was with roommates, I wouldn't do hw until they were all asleep, and would listen to trance and have a candle lit (don't judge lol). Technically, I only have 2 assignments left, but one requires at least 5 hours for this week (may take up to another 2.5 to actually get the assignment done), and another that I have to log between 9-12 hours for. ugh.

I've also got some really AWESOME news. We are getting into Fayetteville on April 14, and we were just told by Austin's manager that our specific apartment won't be available until the 21st!!! So they are putting us in a hotel for that time. Austin starts work the 19th, and I also start school that day. I'm literally going to be making every single meal in our instant pot, and washing it after each meal in the hotel bathtub...doesn't it sound glorious?

Anyways, good note is that I've been walking pretty consistently the past two weeks. At least 3x/week for an hour. I feel pretty good about it and can't wait to start using the apartment gym in Fayetteville. I'm wanting to walk on an incline and work up to doing weighted arm exercises while walking. I've currently got blisters forming on the balls of my feet though. I've had one pair of tennis shoes since 2017, and I worked a full-time standing up job for almost a year in them, plus every day wear, so the memory foam soles are a little worn, and have a little hole where the balls of my feet are. Which I don't notice when I use them for little things, but after about 20 minutes of fast walking, I'm starting to notice the ouchies. So Austin and I went to Big 5 today, found a pair of shoes that we liked that were on sale (FILA, was $70, on sale for $25) and used a $5 coupon. After taxes, I have a nice pair of new shoes for $22.50! SCORE.

Somehow, I'm able to feel enough concentration to write all this up, but not do homework lol.

Also, funny story, my period (I'll just call it Aunt Martha, I grew up calling it that) is supposed to hit this next thursday, which happens to be the day we are moving everything into storage! Then we leave that saturday. I swear, Martha never comes on a boring day when I can just lay around and sleep :')

  1. Good luck with the homework Taylor, you'll be so relieved when you are finally done with school! But you'll be so happy that you did it. It won't get easier, just harder as life goes on. I'm going to really find that out soon when I sign up for a class or two. I also have a hard time focusing when things are messy and cluttered. Haha about making meals in a motel. I've done that before and it's no fun. I can send you guys some money to buy food for a few days so you don't have to do that! Good job on the walking and I'm glad you got some new shoes. Take care of those feet!
