Taylor - Too Much Free Time

Austin leaves for work around 3/4pm every day except Saturdays, which he is leaving around 9am. The past few days he has been getting home anywhere between 11:30-1am. I hope he will be able to come home earlier on Saturdays. On the weekdays we have been able to sleep in a little bit. We have too much light coming through our window so we hung blankets in front of it (looks pretty ghetto), and now we sleep pretty well, besides the fact that we are still on an air mattress. We were supposed to get our real mattress yesterday, but it didn't show.

We are getting up around 9/10 most days, read scriptures, make breakfast. Austin has still been doing some things to get more organized, so while he does that, I have been motivated enough to get back on FitOn and have done a workout pretty much every day this week (except today). On top of that, we have been able to go together to pick up/restock work equipment around noon, then go to a park every day. A lot of the disk golf courses we have been to around here are in the *hilly* forest, which is much different from the flat open park we had in Rexburg. So while Austin plays, I'll get a good walk/hike in with him. Then we go home, make lunch, and then he heads out the door for work.

I have classes MWF only. This consists of an Eternal Families class from 2:45-3:45, then my Architectural Drawing class from 4-6pm. I am also taking a personal finance class, which I've been able to get most of that stuff done on MW. If I don't, I save it for T/Th. The rest of the time, I AM SO BORED. Pretty much for the past year and a half, Austin and I were home all day together. All our classes were remote, he wasn't gone for hours and hours at a time, in fact, I joined him when he went to work. So now, I am stuck at home for hours on end, no car, bored out of my mind. Yesterday I binge watched almost an entire season of The Night Shift. I might lose my mind. I wonder if this would convince Austin to let us get a dog lol. I've been thinking for a while about getting an ESA, because of depression/nerves with future pregnancies. But dogs are expensive to keep up with. I want a small one, which would be a lot cheaper, but Austin doesn't want to financially commit, which is understandable. It is difficult to find a cheap pet friendly apartment in Rexburg. And I don't want to actually register a dog as ESA because that would require me to go see a therapist/counselor and get "prescribed" an ESA. Most Dr's want to try medication first, which I absolutely refuse. It is good for some people, but I really am not depressed or anxious enough to need medications to make it better.

I'm trying to restock my freezer meals, so I'm throwing in any leftovers we have that are decent coming out of a freezer (mostly soups). Our main meals together are lunch now, instead of dinner, so he packs a sandwich and stuff for dinner, and I snack on small things. So I am trying to make a real meal while he is gone, then we can reheat it for lunch, then throw the rest of it in the freezer. It's not the freshest, but it works.

  1. Sounds like you need a hobby or cause. Have you tried family history? It is super addicting but also fantastically fulfilling. Or you could do some sort of at-home part-time job.

  2. Taylor, I understand what you mean about BORDOM. I'm starting to be less bored now and adjusting to my less busy life. I hope you get all your furniture soon!
