Amber - That evening
Always something gets me to stay up too late. Not sure why I can't get it but I will say that my morning time is great! I'm doing better there than planned. I'm going to keep going as I am except I'm adding that app I told you about. Maybe it will have an affect on my evening if I can feel like I've done all my housework. Especially if I keep getting up in the morning, that will help me have more free time in the evenings so I won't feel like I have to stay up.
Goals:
- Alarm at 9:00- wrap it up and go get ready for bed.
- Alarm at 9:30- time to put it down now.
- Bed at 10 pm
- Rise at 7 am (alarm included)
- Have an activity every day that I look forward to having time to do.

Monday:
* D&C 60 talks about sharing the gospel as a talent, it says that if you are not more faithful you would have your talent taken away. I had never thought you could lose the knowledge of the gospel just by not sharing it, yet this is what verse three implies. Also if you just focus on the talent part you can get something else out of it. Wo unto those who hide up their talents because of the fear of man and those who instead idle away their time. I have a few talents and often at times I have chosen not to let people see them because I don't like the lime light, also because it is sometimes uncomfortable or hard work to share my talents. I have noticed that I have lost some abilities over time because I wasn't using them. On the contrary the more I've used other talents the more I seem to need or am drawn to opportunities to learn new ones. Talent begets talent. So if you bring that back then the more you share the gospel then the more you get out of it. My best studies have been when I'm studying to share or teach, both as a missionary and as a teacher/talk giver.
- No crafting today but I had a fantastic day with getting things done. I started using my app today and have improved to level 1 already and partway through to level 2. I did end the day completely exhausted but tomorrow will be much easier. I have dinner already done and since I did everything for the first time today it will be much faster to keep up on a daily basis. I also managed to get my bookshelf secured so now I can start filling it up, so exciting!
Tuesday:
* Elder Gong gave an interesting talk last conference. I'll confess I didn't get a whole lot out of it and really struggled to follow the path he was taking. Some speakers don't make sense to me, it can sound like they are rambling and sharing random bits but they act as if they have a point. Elder Gong made 5 points that at first seemed like all the same point to me just repeated in 5 ways that were sometimes the same and sometimes different. It took a little bit of work but I think I see how they are different. I'm going to share my version of his 5 points. To set the scene he tells a story of three images, one of Adam and Eve, one of the good Samaritan, and the third of Christ's second coming. We are all on this earth struggling through the world and Christ brings us like the good Samaritan to the Inn or to His Church. He promises to return and pay for us but in the mean time we wait. While doing so we learn 5 things.
- About ourselves. We come with all of our flaws and we also come with something to contribute.
- About our responsibilities while at the Inn. It is a place for everyone and all should feel welcome, we do our part to make all feel loved and like they belong.
- About Jesus Christ. We strive to be like him, when we fail His Atonement makes it possible to have a second and a third chance. This he offers to everyone.
- About the Inn itself. Here we have everything we need. Truth, living prophets, modern day revelation, temples, the Book of Mormon, and others.
- About God. God loves all no matter their background, no matter their race or culture, no matter their marital status. These things do not change how he loves us, He has offered all the same chance to live with Him again.
- Nothing special today, I did a tiny bit of weaving.
- I did stay up way too late while just looking at stuff online.
Wednesday:
* I don't feel much like sharing anything but I'm right here so this is what I got today. D&C 51 talks about all the wickedness and dangers and bad things that could happen. It also says that they who repent and are righteous will have the Holy Ghost. No matter where or how they go or what they do, so long as they follow the Spirit and keep repenting then they will be protected.
- Nothing today, was pretty slow and tired all day.
Thursday:
* D&C 97:15-17 talks about temples. It struck me (not for the first time but I must need to keep working on it) that this can be applied to both making your home a temple and keeping your body pure like a temple. If we keep unclean things out of both then the glory of the Lord shall rest upon it and his presence shall be there because he shall come there. It does say that the pure in heart shall see God. Now that quite probably means that some even many will actually see God but it could also mean something else. President Nelson said that we can see the Savior in the temple through a greater understanding and comprehension of Him and his life, work, and glory. This seeing comes from the Holy Ghost. Keeping our bodies and homes clean and pure will allow the spirit to be there and allow us to see God in our lives and homes.
- Nothing again. I've been sick and tired and busy with the energy healing and creating better habits with cleaning. I just thought it would be a small thing that I would do for fun. It is for fun but it is also a lot more work than I had anticipated. On the plus side the house is cleaner and in the evenings I feel good about what I've done. I don't feel the need to stay up to play, though I am staying up it isn't really to play. I just keep wanting to do one more thing before bed and that leads to more than one thing. I have gone up a rank on the app and nearly have enough gold for a mini reward.
Friday:
* I was reading in Luke about when Christ was 40 days in the wilderness and noticed at the first attempt by Satan to tempt Christ. It was after the 40 days and Christ was hungry so Satan told him to turn the rocks into bread. I have no doubt he could do it and maybe if it had been right he would have done it. However I've never quite understood why it was a temptation. Today I realized that none of the miracles you hear Christ performing were for personal benefit. He fed many people out of nothing but it was for the people not for himself. So it is with any priesthood power, never does one bless themselves or prepare the sacrament only for oneself. There must be at least one other to either give the blessing or receive the sacrament.
- I spent some time weaving again. I've woven enough to meet around my waist. It's a long process but I'm still loving the results. I'd do it again but only when I've acquired a loom. The way I have it set up is convenient for the place but not comfortable so I tend to do it in spurts.
- I am feeling worse today, my cold symptoms have moved around but I'm also feeling a bit sick to my stomach so I may be staying home tomorrow.
- Yes my bedtime is correct up there, I am losing progress, this time it was playing. I was doing better before I started this app and was having things exciting to do. Gaming does not inspire the same excitement or dedication.
Saturday:
* I found a small thing at the beginning of Elder Holland talk about not as the world giveth. It is of course based on the words of the Savior in John who said "my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you." That made me stop and think what peace does the world offer. Many people think that peace is when they are financially stable or can go on a vacation somewhere or get away from the needs of the people around them or a number of other things that are difficult or annoying. Freedom from struggle and trials and challenges is peace. Or there is the goal of world peace. No more war and no more crime and no more hunger. I admit all of these things would bring some kind of peace. However, I have experienced many times of worldly peace and yet still not felt at peace. Freedom from trials can bring a lack of growth and a stress about the future. Many people have lots of money yet how hard do they still search for peace? How many parents try to shield their children from the daily challenges of life only to have put them in a position where they weren't able to face them when they unavoidably came? The peace the Savior offers does not always mean freedom from trials and challenges. In fact it can be found in the midst of the trials and challenges of life. It is a peace of knowing and feeling. Knowing you are loved and guided and can always repent. Knowing you have a plan and that you are protected by the most powerful being in existence. Feeling the joy of being clean and the love of Heavenly parents. Feeling the comfort that comes from the Holy Ghost. This kind of peace is better than anything the world offers because it is lasting no matter what happens to you or around you the peace is always available.
- Just some more weaving today.
Sunday:
* I didn't read again today, I was actually quite busy until the evening.
I am really wanting to start working on my sewing/crafting again. With doing my energy work and keeping on top of my housework I will find going to bed to be a big help so that is still going to be my goal next week.
Thanks Amber!
