So good and bad this week.  I've done relatively well on the goals I'm not tracking here but not much different on my sleeping.  I didn't even finish tracking last week because I was so busy.  I plan on this week being better so here is the goal again.

Goals:

  • Planning meeting with God as soon as I am dressed and awake
  • Alarm at 9:00- wrap it up and go get ready for bed.
  • Alarm at 9:30- time to put it down now and go do my report meeting, afterwards do my routine.
  • Routine includes electronic free time, cleaning up last minute things, getting dressed, washing my face, and either mediating or yoga or something really relaxing.
  • Bed at 10 pm

Monday:

* I liked the effort the high priests put into their seeking for revelation, it says that they all prayed separately and vocally for the Lord to reveal his will and then assembled together.  The Lord says that this is pleasing unto Him "the angels rejoice over you; the alms of your prayers have come up into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth, and are recorded in the book of the names of the sanctified, even them of the celestial world."  Joseph said that the revelation that followed was an olive leaf plucked from the Tree of Paradise and was the Lord's message of peace unto them.  I would like to be able to pray that powerfully.  I am still working on it and think that spiritually that prayer improvement is the next goal for me.

Tuesday:

* Today is my birthday and I read a very nice section of D&C 88.  It is at the beginning about how Christ is the light and the sun and the moon and the stars and the earth and all the powers thereof are all full of the light of Christ.  The more I learn the more I realize this is true.  Christ has had a hand in everything beautiful and good.  He is the creator of the earth and made things run so that we could exist here.  Everything you do and see exists and is possible because of him, it is all because and through the power that he holds that is given Him by the Father.  Now if I can only remember this more often I will be much happier and successful.  The times that I have remembered this I've been more grateful, I've seen more good around me, I've noticed more blessings in my life, I've felt at peace and more joy, my trials seem lessened and my knowledge seems expanding.  This life does get in the way and I get easily distracted but I would like to have these things more in my life.

Wednesday:

* My thought today is about verse 40 of section 88. " For intelligence cleaveth unto intelligence; wisdom receiveth wisdom; virtue loveth virtue; light cleaveth unto light; mercy hath compassion on mercy and claimeth her own; justice continueth its course and claimeth its own; judgement goeth before the face of him who sitteth upon the throne and governeth and executeth all things."  Like produces like.  Whatever you think about draws more of itself to you.  What you entertain yourself with attracts more of the same.  Who you spend time with influences you until you become similar.  What do you want in life?  Fill you life with that thing and you will get more of it.

Thursday:

* I definitely failed last night to get to bed but I still feel really good about it because...I spent the evening finally making my budget tracking excel sheet.  I was struggling to keep track of it all on a piece of paper and kept putting it off.  Does it feel good to figure out how much money I have for what!  Since making a budge I certainly spend less money but I feel like I have more money than I did before.  So today I found another thing in section 88.  I don't see how I'm supposed to be done with section by Monday.  I am not even half way and there seems to be something good every few verses! Verse 66 says that "truth abideth and hath no end, and if it be in you it shall abound."  That sounds exciting to me, always to have truth with me and that it shall be plentiful and continue to grow.  The next verse says that if your eye is single your whole body will be filled with light with no darkness.  That is a lot of truth!  Then it says "that body which is filled with light comprehendeth all things."  That is one of the joys of my life.  When I understand something it brings me peace and contentment.  If I don't then I'm left feeling dissatisfied and incomplete.  It leaves a very unpleasant taste in my mouth of that thing or event and tarnishes the memory of it a little bit.  So the idea of being able to comprehend all things is fantastic to me.

I did read the rest of the week but failed to write anything and now I can't remember.  Also I have done poorly again on my sleeping.  On the plus side my bed is more comfortable than I thought.

Comments

  1. Isn't it funny how when you budget it seems like you have more? I feel like its the exact same with time. When I plan what time I have and decide where I want to spend it, I feel like I get a lot more done.
P.S. This is never Zach it is always Aubrey.

  2. I've struggled with time a great deal and while doing my energy course on finances I was struck by how much time and energy were similar to money and how I could probably replace money with either of those and it would fit perfectly.
