Amber - The real test

Image
This week is free and that makes it a perfect week to see if my bed time can improve with the changes I've made last week combined with a normal schedule. Goals: Alarm at 9:30 - wrap it up and go get ready for bed. Bed at 10 pm Rise at 7 am (alarm included) Have an activity every day that I look forward to having time to do. Monday: * I read a tiny bit of section 45 about Christ being our advocate.  Come Follow Me asks what it means to to have Christ as my advocate.  Funny enough I watched a movie clip from a show that I shouldn't spend any time on at all, but it helped me have more of a perspective on this question.  A man from one side of the war came to offer his services to other side to defeat a greater enemy.  The problem was that he was walking into his enemies camp alone.  He felt it was the right thing to do but he was hated by his enemies because he was one of the chief players in the war.  Several of the leaders of the other side had good c...

Taylor - Too Much Free Time

Austin leaves for work around 3/4pm every day except Saturdays, which he is leaving around 9am. The past few days he has been getting home anywhere between 11:30-1am. I hope he will be able to come home earlier on Saturdays. On the weekdays we have been able to sleep in a little bit. We have too much light coming through our window so we hung blankets in front of it (looks pretty ghetto), and now we sleep pretty well, besides the fact that we are still on an air mattress. We were supposed to get our real mattress yesterday, but it didn't show.  We are getting up around 9/10 most days, read scriptures, make breakfast. Austin has still been doing some things to get more organized, so while he does that, I have been motivated enough to get back on FitOn and have done a workout pretty much every day this week (except today). On top of that, we have been able to go together to pick up/restock work equipment around noon, then go to a park every day. A lot of the disk golf courses w...

Amber - More Progress

Even as my main goal this is a hard one.  Why was it so easy to kick the phone out of the room yet so hard to go to bed?  Both were long standing habits that I enjoyed.  I'm trying a new thing this week that I'm hoping will help.  So part of the reason I was able to kick the phone out was because I was excited to have an electronic free room.  It feels good in the room and I sleep incredibly well.  You don't even realize how bad you are sleeping until you leave the phone out.  Anyways I need an incentive and I'm trying the incentive to get up and do fun things in the day.  I've assigned particular days to particular free time activities.  I'm also hoping the progress on my activities will reduce the need/desire to spend much time game.  Right now I am super excited to do things today, I just need to get my morning stuff done and I can plan my activity for the day.  So here are the goals Goals: Alarm at 9:30 - wrap it up and go...

Taylor - I'm Just Getting on When I Can

I've been kinda bad at getting on here and updating!  We got moved in! We are still in the process of unpacking (we arrived yesterday night), and will be for the next few days while we wait for furniture to arrive. Austin's employers had a company lined up to furnish everyone, but they backed out of the contract the day before we got here. We are on a nice air mattress though, so last night's sleep wasn't bad:) School is starting back up on Monday and I'm not feeling ready yet. I've had to buy another $100 worth of art materials on top of my $100 marker set. I am also taking Personal Finance and Religion classes. I'm already ready for the semester to be over, haha.  My mom and possibly my sister and dad will be visiting sometime later this summer! I'm excited. The weather here is a little crazy, at least compared to Rexburg summers. It goes from sunny to pouring rain in such a short amount of time!  I am trying to get back on top of watching my portions...

Kileys first post

Just got on here to say- all you are incredible sisters. So thankful to know you all. I only read a few posts but was left feeling inspired by each one of you and your support to one another.  My goal right now in life: major declutter.  I’ve started with the kitchen. Working my way upstairs and the last and most challenging will be the basement.   I am excited.  Baby steps.  Cameron just took an entire truck load to D.I. Today. I’m still getting over the fact that we didn’t get any pictures of our awesome decluttering.   I also have some DIY projects up my sleeve but I’m holding off until I declutter a bit more. I will be refinishing a dining room table we just bought off classifieds and painting some furniture we got.  Right now- my emotional goal has been to FEEL. I have a tendency to completely detach from all of my emotions- especially when life gets hard. I detach so severely that I don’t even realize I’m going through a hard time and then ...

Amber - Switching focus

Alright I'm finally going to do something more about this bed time thing.  I have to add some tweaks because it just isn't working as is.  The focus is to get that bed time and rise time down pat and I feel good about that one so I'm going with it.  In fact I think I will not even add the other goals on this post, though I am still working on them.  My biggest obstacle to getting up in time to get things done before I have to watch grandma is that I don't go to bed early enough to get enough sleep. My biggest obstacle to getting to bed on time is me on the computer playing games.  So for this week at least I am shutting all solo gaming down.  I need a break from it anyways, though I very much enjoy it so I will be working it in somehow.  However, since the established habit is stay up and play and the preferred habit is get to bed at a certain time then this is how I think I need to do it.  Then the only other edits will be that I have decid...

alyse

Hi this week was very productive. I organized some of our apartment, cleaned and got some work done that I've been procrastinating for months. I was doing really good with my workouts, going on 30 min runs, pilates, stretching and core workouts every morning. Unfortunately on my thursday run I sprained my ankle and scraped up my leg pretty badly so I'm going to have to wait to do most my workouts again. I start work again on thursday and I am dreading it :/ but I am trying to keep a positive attitude. My goals for this week are: 24 hr. positivity and gratitude (of course I am going to have negative thoughts but for me its about correcting the statement, like if my first thought is "I hate this" I can just stop myself and say no, "I am learning a lot from this"), 72 oz of water a day, workout for 30 min until my ankle heals and practice different skills for 1-2 hours a day.
