Taylor - It's almost October!

Long time no see! Austin and I are finally getting into more of a routine. His class work load is so much easier since switching majors from Mechanical Engineering to Manufacturing Engineering Technology. He's hoping that he might be able to squeeze in a weekend to go hunting this fall, he still needs to call Cameron and talk about it though.  We will be 28 weeks tomorrow, and I am so excited! The weather is starting to cool off, I've got most of our baby stuff washed, organized, and ready to go, and the fall colors are starting to show in the trees! Tonight is our 4/5 hypnobirthing class, and we will be spending the majority learning how to use counterpressure techniques and stuff to help during labor, which I'm pretty pumped about. ALSO, Austin and I both have job interviews on Friday! It's for seasonal positions at Artco (The Occassions Group) making greeting cards for the holidays. They are incredibly flexible with schedules (literally work whenever you want, as th...

Amber - slight change with extra motivation

So I didn't post last week.  I will confess that no one has been here and I was feeling like what is the point.  Actually the bigger issue was that I didn't want to report another week of failure, which is what it was, as far as measurable goal progress was concerned.  However I had some good scripture study, mostly of the chastening kind where I realized I'm slacking in some areas and exhibiting some lazy and self centered behaviors.  Basically I've had a rough few weeks and I think it is time to put my foot down.  Thus I'm creating a mandatory schedule and I have some fuel/motivation from last weeks scripture study to back it up with.  (Sorry for those who like to read my scripture study I can't remember all of them.  I did come follow me, the last two conference talks, and a study on the covenants made in the temple).  Anyways the schedule is split into three sections and consists of the stuff I've been trying to do for the last few month...

Good day to someone.  I'm not finding much enthusiasm for this blog anymore so I skipped another week.  I did a little better on scripture study than the last time it happened but still not near as good as when I share.  In other words not an acceptable state of scripture study.  My goals are again much the same as last week just because I did make some progress and I haven't yet really pinned down the tweaks I want to make to the changes I made last time.  Last week was mostly vacation or preparing for vacation.   The three main goals are 1. Prayers 2. Exercise 3. Go to Bed If you want more details see last post. Monday: * Elder Dyches of the 70 gave an amazing talk about "Light Cleaveth Unto Light".  It has actually been a sort of theme in my scripture study so I really liked it.  Light always beats the darkness, any amount of light and the darkness must give way for the light.  This is so with truth, it is like a light to our mi...

So I skipped last week.  I was depressed last week and I have to say that not having to put my spiritual thought down did affect the quality of my scripture study, though I not as much as it used to.  I still tried to find something but since I wasn't actually writing it down it wasn't as important to find something.  I am feeling better this week and I have decided to add a little bit to the goals this week.  I need to do a few things to improve my days, I need better prayers, I need to get some sort of exercise, and of course to go to sleep on time.  I was getting tired of using the chart, partly because the post won't stay in "compose view" and I had to switch it back every time I updated.  Maybe I'll add one at the end of the week because I am fond of seeing the trend of the week.  So new goals below. Goals: 1. Prayers Have a nice morning meeting about the day (after I am actually awake and dressed). Say one before scripture study. End the da...

This week is feeling redundant.  I know I still need to get to sleep but I'm so tired of trying and failing so now I want to change my goal.  However, like I said, I still need to get to sleep on time.  So I have as of not yet done much energy work on it and have on many other things which have improved.  Reasons I have failed to use it for this my current goal are many and right now sound like a bunch of excuses so I'm skipping those and today, Monday, am implementing at least one, maybe two techniques.  I will report on any results good or bad and I want progress on this one this week.  I am also going to include it heavily in my prayers, throughout the day if necessary.  This non progress has been the story of my efforts for a long time.  Since I know I'm supposed to focus on it then I am assuming I'm supposed to progress at it.  So here goes this week.  Goals: Planning meeting with God as soon as I am dressed and awake Alarm at...

Life Was Not Meant to Be Easy.-Aubrey

I think it is so important to understand that life was never meant to be easy. I have been really struggling lately. Some emotional and some physical, but it is kicking my butt. I have been trying to figure out what I can do to help me, but also properly execute my responsibilities at home as a wife and mother. I have been struggling to even just do the basics without losing my temper or checking out (Aaron has watched quite a bit of tv lately).  I made a check list that is pretty redundant, but it is necessary sometimes with my currant state of mind. It is divided into 4 parts; Personal, Kids, Zach, and Family/House. It has things as little and consistent as prayers and as changing as the specific chores that need to be done that particular day. My checklist haste been a really good way for me to feel like I am getting things done, but also lets me know what I might be neglecting. I noticed this last week that I have put more importance on everybody else so yesterday when I would ...

So good and bad this week.  I've done relatively well on the goals I'm not tracking here but not much different on my sleeping.  I didn't even finish tracking last week because I was so busy.  I plan on this week being better so here is the goal again. Goals: Planning meeting with God as soon as I am dressed and awake Alarm at 9:00- wrap it up and go get ready for bed. Alarm at 9:30- time to put it down now and go do my report meeting, afterwards do my routine. Routine includes electronic free time, cleaning up last minute things, getting dressed, washing my face, and either mediating or yoga or something really relaxing. Bed at 10 pm Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Rise Time 8 7:45 6:30 7:50 9 7:50 Bed Time 11 11:30 1 12 3 10:15 Monday: * I liked the effort the high priests put into their seeking for revelation, it says that they all prayed separately and vocally for the Lord to reveal his will and then assembled together.  The Lord sa...

So, here I am.  I've been having a desire to post here.  I know this blog started as a healthy lifestyle reporting place but it seems to have morphed into a group journal or something.  Anyway, I like to read the posts.  I have a couple of goals to report right now.  One is that for 12 years I've been trying to find someone to help me with my hormone issues, etc. and as you all know I have finally found someone in Park City, Dr. Nielsen at the Nielsen Clinic.  He is amazing!!!!  But I'm very motivated to follow his advice because I feel like I finally know what's wrong with me health wise and he's teaching me how to fix it.  I have been on the diet he prescribed for almost 10 weeks now (I can only eat vegetables of all kinds, whole fruit, eggs, nuts, chicken, turkey and fish.  So no grains, no dairy, no sugar of any type, no red meats, no fruit juices, no nitrates).  Although weight loss was not the main goal in the beginning, it i...

I did quite terrible last week on my goal.  Though I will confess I did really well on my smaller goals.  Including getting back to the temple.  I am going this week so I am very excited!  I recently finished a short course of energy healing on my body and I left with a new understanding, appreciation, respect, and love for my body.  I have known for a long time that my body needed less sugar and some sort of exercise but kept repeating the same old patterns because they are habits and those are hard to change.  This time through the course I again felt I needed to do those two things but I also realized that I will always be constantly sick until I do those two things.  I have decided that my body doesn't deserve the way I've been treating it, it is doing it's best and I've been sabotaging it at every turn, so now I wish to work in partnership with it.  This knowledge, along with all the energy work I did on this issue, has allowed me to le...

Good morning people.  I am feeling good about this coming week.  I didn't do well on my last week, I missed a few days and I don't remember the exact times but I didn't go to bed on time any of those days.  However I am feeling more of a desire to get good sleep and that is a necessary piece of the foundation of for making a change in anything.  Not on my list but I am also feeling this about eating sugar.  I am feeling less inclined to eat it and most of the day I usually ignore it.  It is going away without much persistent effort on my part.  Now I am still working on the bed time issue so here are the goals, same as last week.  Goals: Planning meeting with God as soon as I am dressed and awake Alarm at 9:00- wrap it up and go get ready for bed. Alarm at 9:30- time to put it down now and go do my report meeting, afterwards do my routine. Routine includes electronic free time, cleaning up last minute things, getting dressed, washing my face, and ...

So this week is starting good and bad.  I'm progressing but it is slow.  I want to move on but recently learned that in order to move on from something I may need to learn all of the lessons it has to teach first.  Since I still don't go to bed on time I can't possibly have learned how to do it yet so that means I must keep trying.  I've gotten pretty fed up with my failures but I am actually making some progress so I also think focusing on that progress will help as well.  So here are the goals and I am also working on other things but haven't been tracking them because that can get a bit depressing when you fail.  However, it can also be helpful so I'm adding one of those here because it is more important than the others.  I am not praying as much so I have made two appointments, one in the morning and one in the evening, as if they are business meetings that I must attend every day.  The morning is my planning meeting and the evening is m...

I am making some fantastic progress on my overall main goal but still not much on this element of it.  I have been doing some energy work that is making a difference and my scripture study as usual is helping.  So I would like to get this part down too.  So here are the goals again. Goals: Alarm at 9:00- wrap it up and go get ready for bed. Alarm at 9:30- time to put it down now and go do the routine. Routine includes electronic free time, cleaning up last minute things, saying a prayer, getting dressed, washing my face, and either mediating or yoga or something really relaxing. Bed at 10 pm Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Rise Time 7 8 8 7:30 6:30 8:30 Bed Time 11ish 10:45 11:45 12 1 Monday: * I read section 77 and it was a bunch of questions and answers Joseph had about the book of revelations.  I didn't really get a ton out of it but the one thing was when John ate a little book that was sweet to the taste but bitter in the belly....

So if you can't tell I'm not much in the mood for blogging.  However, I've totally noticed a drop in my scripture study effectiveness and then a drop in my spirituality over just the last few days. Also a drop in my happiness and since I know they are all connected I've made an effort today. Same goals as last time but too lazy to write them right now.  The first part of the week has been me keeping busy with Mom and Chad and of course Grandma.  I didn't learn anything spectacular and I didn't do any crafting.  My goal progress was great for one evening, I went to bed at 10:30.  Other than that it has been bad.  I realized the day before yesterday that even though it is my goal I never actually plan on going to bed at that time.  It is more of a "let's see how I feel and what is happening" attitude.  I will confess yesterday I planned to go to bed at a certain time but started a game 30 mins before I was to get off.  Quite a stupid move whi...

I am not sure what this week will be like.  Last night I was feeling sick and since I spent the last two nights before in the same space as a very sick Addy then I may have caught something.  However, I don't really feel it when I woke up, this means nothing of course except that it may not get bad or I may not have caught it.  Either way I think I now have an extra reason to get some good sleep at a healthy hour. Bed at 10 pm Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Rise Time 8:10 6:54 7:30 ? 7 Bed Time 12:30 12:30 12 10:30 Monday: * My study today produced a small thought from section 70.  I did actually read on the reunion but found it impossible...
